The 4th Kimolos International Film Festival will be held on June 13 – 20, 2022 at multiple locations across the beautiful island of Kimolos in Greece, inviting the audience to discover visionary filmmakers.
Kimolos International Film Festival is a prominent film festival, showcasing a selection of independent films. The festival’s program line-up includes a variety of feature films. The Official Selection/Competition is an international non-specialized competition, presenting six (6) feature films which were completed after the 1st of January 2021. It is required that the films are a Greek Premiere. The films will compete for the Golden Tree Award and the Best Director Award.
The Festival Director, Manuel de Coco, selects films for the competition and appoints at least five (5) members of the Jury to the International Competition. We believe that our film festival is a “must” for everyone related to the cinema industry.
Founder / Festival Director
Manuel de Coco was born in Athens, Greece. He is a film director and writer, best known for his poetic and transcendental style. He is also well known for travelling to extreme places to explore humanity’s relationship with spirituality. His first feature film “Unknown Land” (2012) was filmed in Yemen and in Israel. It has participated in many International Film Festivals (Cairo IFF, Sao Paulo IFF, Andrey Tarkovsky IFF, Film Festival Cologne etc.) and won several awards. The film has been banned in many countries of the Arab world and in Israel. His second film is the docufiction “Invisible World” (2022) and it has been shot over a fifteen-year period in nine countries (Tibet, Mongolia, Russia, Israel, Palestine, Greece, Italy, Vatican City, Nepal).
